Fight Night!

On Saturday June 26, 2010 I competed in a charity boxing event to raise money for the families who lost loved ones in the Kleen Energy Power Plant explosion. I had spent the previous 90 days training at the Lions Den in Middletown to get ready for the event. Unfortunately there was a last minute change to the fight card due to USA Boxing rules that prevent fighters from different divisions. Fighters who are 35 and older are considered in the Masters Division. Under 35 are athletes. The fighter I was scheduled to fight turned 35 in May so I could no longer fight him. To prevent my fight from being scratched they found a ringer for me to fight. I went against Lance "The Hangover" Henry. Turns out Lance was the 2006 State Champ at the 178 lbs weight class. Lance got a few good hits in to my head and body but I survived all three rounds. It was a great night and I can't thank everyone enough who came to watch. Here are some photos from the event.

Birthday 2010

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Or it was on May 6. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do for my birthday until a good friend suggested getting tickets to a game. So I did. We bought tickets for the State Street Pavilion. They are pretty good seats and I did like the waitress service. It was a great night so here are some pictures documenting the festivities.

Illuminated as if to say, "Drink Me"
My bucket!!!!!
Halfway into a bucket.
From our seats looking down.
This is Jenny, Thank you for suggesting the game. What a great night.

So this is the bar accessed by our State Street Pavilion seats. Notice that everyone is dressed up. We stuck out just a little but loved it. Oh and there is marble in the bathrooms here.
Starting to feel good.

A little colder now so had to get some long sleeves. Look my eyes are still open.

Post game with some of our new friends at Game On. Matt and TJ.

I have no clue who this girl is but apparently I started dancing with her which means you know I had a couple in me. All in all it was a great night and might have to be a new birthday tradition.
