My uncle recently traveled from Tajikistan to visit. We have had a great time introducing his companion to New England food and traditions. It has been a great visit so far and I enjoy all the time I get to spend with my nephew. He is a riot. Protect your daughters. He is a pimp!

Team Beeler
Each year, in communities all across the United States and Canada, families, friends, neighbors and teams from local businesses and national companies come together for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS's) Light The Night Walk events to bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers. This year my family got involved in this event.
It was an amazing night and I want to thank all of our friends who contributed and helped do the walk. We had a great night and the rain held off for us which was nice.

The Oil Pan
So a few weeks back after putting the carburetor on and some tune up items I thought I was close to trying to start the Jeep. Turns out I was wrong but I didn't realize just yet. After jecking all the fluids I had to add oil. After adding four quarts of oil I noticed a drip. Didn't think much of it probably just a lose drain plug. That was until I crawled underneath the Jeep to tighten.
The leak was from the side of the oil pan! DAMN!!!! So off to Quadratec online to order a new oil pan and gasket. After some delays on the order I finally decided to change the oil pan. (I really wasn't looking forward to laying outside on the gravel under the Jeep) I figured that it would be an easy job and take about an hour. I mean come on, drop a few bolts, take out the pan and slide the new one in. I bet thats what it would have been in my Nova. But NOPE!!! Not the jeep. Two hours in, I have all the bolts out but the oil pan just won't give in. Damn pan. Finally after some "gentle" persuasion the old pan is out.
After scraping the old gasket out and cleaning everything underneath it was time to install the new pan...... The repair manuals have differing opinions on how to get the old pan out and new one in. One says drop the front axle, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! The other says unbolt transmission and one side of motor and lift motor. ALSO NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
Needless to say after several more hours and a few choice words the new oil pan is in and fired up the Jeep. Sounds great! Looking forward to chasing the remaining issues with it.
Updates on the Jeep
It has been quite a bit of work on the Jeep so far. Mostly just labor chasing down the issues, cleaning, and rebuilding most things. To date the following has been done: rebuilt carburetor, drained old fuel, new distributor cap, spark plugs, ignition wires, rotor, new battery, fuel lines, fuel filter, new oil pan, new serpentine belt, repaired alternator... for starters.

My New Jeep
For those of you who knew me in high school I had a sweet sweet car. We called it, "The Nova". It was a fun car with some great memories for all who entered in to the magic of "The Nova." Unfortunately there was a day that came that The Nova needed to be retired. My father and I did some shopping and we had found a Jeep CJ7. It would have been another very fun vehicle. However, at the time I had no clue how to wrench on something and my father was pretty much the same. I have always wanted a Jeep and recently was able to make that desire come true. I am sure I could come up with reasons of why not to own a jeep.... but I want one and that is enough.
I traded my lawn tractor for this jeep. Yep that is right. I traded a lawn tractor for a Jeep. Ok so the Jeep doesnt run but it WILL! The Jeep is a 1989 Jeep Wrangler Laredo. Inline 6 with a 5 speed manual.
Here are some of the beginning photos of the Jeep.
